About Us

Hi, I’m Zoe Kournikakis, founder of Sunshine Learning Station, proudly based in Medicine Hat, Alberta. As the owner and operator of our mobile Sensory Bus, I’m passionate about creating fun, inclusive, and engaging experiences for children of all abilities.

Our Sensory Bus is uniquely designed to support a wide range of sensory needs, equipped with features like a zipline, rock wall, swings, tunnels, slide, and more. Whether it’s a field trip, birthday party, or community event, our goal is always the same: to offer a safe and stimulating space where every child can play, explore, and build confidence—regardless of their abilities or support needs.

Born and raised in Medicine Hat, I’ve spent the past decade working in our community in a variety of childcare centres and local schools. I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Care Work from Grant MacEwan University in 2014. My career has always focused on supporting and empowering children and youth, and that passion continues to guide everything I do today.

I began working on the Sensory Bus in 2022 under its original founder, Erin Grujic of Sensational Path, and instantly fell in love with the concept, the mission, and the joy it brought to children and families. Taking over the bus and continuing Erin’s legacy has been an incredible honour—and I truly couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
